Wyatt - Willow

Wyatt consistently vomited for about 18 months. In that 18 months, he saw 4 or 5 doctors trying to figure out why Wyatt was having his nausea. He was diagnosed May 10, 2018 with a medulloblastoma tumor.  We then rushed to Denver Children’s Hospital where the tumor was removed and he underwent 7 intensive weeks of sedation and radiation.

Because of Wyatt’s diagnosis, we decided to move home to Alaska to be close to family. The end of July we listed our home in Billings, Montana and moved back to Alaska where we renovated an old 1980s off-the-grid (solar power, wood stove, toyo stove) farmhouse my in-laws gave us. We lived 214 miles round trip from Anchorage where Wyatt received chemotherapy treatment every Thursday and occupational and physical therapy every Friday starting August 2018. In 2019, Wyatt has been admitted three times.

With the help from Katie's Handprint we have been able to afford gas for multiple trips to town.  It also relieves financial stress from my husband who works out of town 3 weeks at a time. The Walmart gift cards have helped feed us on long 8 hour treatment days, as well as provide emergency toiletries when Wyatt has been admitted. Wyatt and our family are so grateful for the support you have given our family while Wyatt battles cancer. Wyatt starts his 7/9 round of chemo soon. We hope to finish chemotherapy by the end of July and look forward to starting the healing process for his brain. Our family can’t thank the donors, volunteers, social workers and everyone involved that contributes to bettering Wyatt.
